26 Sep Become an Organiser of Aarhus Symposium 2017

Do you want to become part of the Organising Committee of Denmark’s most ambitious student-driven organisation? Now is your chance!

Currently, a few spots are available in the Support Crew of Aarhus Symposium 2017. As a member of our Support Crew, you will become part of the Organising Committee of Aarhus Symposium 2017 and help make this year’s Aarhus Symposium and Aarhus Symposium Focus extraordinary experiences for our attending students. You can expect to work together with a group of highly dedicated and talented Organisers with various backgrounds and skillsets and make your mark on key aspects of this year’s events.

What you can expect of being part of Aarhus Symposium

– A unique learning experience from hands-on experience with creating world-class events

– A strong network of fellow talented Organisers from a broad spectrum of fields of study and semesters

– The chance of becoming part of the Organising Committee of Aarhus Symposium 2018 if you are interested

What we expect of you

– You are an ambitious student currently enrolled in a university degree at Aarhus University. We encourage both Bachelor and Master students to apply

– You are dedicated to working with a wide variety of tasks together in various group settings

– You are excited to learn from working together with some of the most ambitious students in Aarhus in a strong feedback environment

– You are a natural critical thinker and keen on making your mark on Aarhus Symposium 2017

If this sounds like you, please do not hesitate to apply. Please send a short motivational letter (maximum one page) together with a CV to mail@aarhus-symposium.org no later than Wednesday, October 4. However, you can apply right away as interviews are held continuously in the coming weeks.

Your contributions constitute a solid platform for connecting leaders of today with leaders of tomorrow. With the number of essays you have submitted, we are happy to announce that all seats for Aarhus Symposium and Aarhus Symposium Focus are taken through Aarhus Symposium Challenge.

Therefore, this year, there will be no Sign-up Day, but waiting lists for this year’s events will be opened at a later stage. More information about waiting lists and whether or not your essay has qualified for the events will follow in the coming weeks.

21 Sep Margrethe Vestager – Speaker at Aarhus Symposium 2017

We are honoured to present Margrethe Vestager, European Commissioner for Competition, as a speaker at Aarhus Symposium 2017.

Margrethe Vestager has not only been one of the leading actors in Danish politics, but has also become an important actor on the global political scene. Vestager is the former leader of the Danish Social Liberal Party and now serves as European Comissioner, enforcing competition laws and securing a fairer economy in Europe. Her great efforts speaks for themselves as she is placed on the list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2017 by Time Magazine.

20 Sep Dominik Bösl – Speaker at Aarhus Symposium 2017

We are excited to announce Dominik Bösl, Senior Corporate Innovation Manager and VP of Consumer Driven Robotics at KUKA, as a speaker at Aarhus Symposium 2017!

Dominik Bösl has built a career on shaping the future of robotics. In his current position at KUKA, he is head of the innovation efforts to combine state-of-the-art robotics with cloud technologies and mobile platforms.

As the founder and director of the Robotic Governance Foundation, Dominik Bösl is also strongly engaged in the discussion on how robotics and artificial intelligence are changing society and humankind.

We are excited to announce the four insightful speakers of Aarhus Symposium Focus 2017!
Christian Friis Bach, Former Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary at United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, has extensive experience with policymaking at both the national and international level.
Edward Ashbee, Associate Professor at the Department of Business and Politics at Copenhagen Business School, is a leading expert on contemporary populism and the neo-liberal right wing.
Thomas Schulz, Group CEO of FLSmidth, is head of a market-leading supplier to the global mining and cement industries with more than 12,000 employees worldwide.
Dennis Novy, Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick, is a highly renowned expert on international trade.
Under the theme “Globalisation in Reverse – The Danish Response”, the four speakers will shed different lights on how Denmark can deal with threats against globalisation; politically and economically.
