Philipp Schröder

Professor, Aarhus BSS

 

Philipp Schröder is a Professor in Economics at the Department of Economics and Business at Aarhus BSS, a member of Konkurrencerådet and is the director at the Tuborg Research Centre for Globalisation and Firms. Philipp’s primary research interests cover international economics and globalisation. Philipp received his Master’s degree from University of Warwick in 1994 and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Aarhus.

 

Philipp has previously worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company and as a Senior Economist at the Research Institute DIW Berlin.

 

Philipp has been the Chairman of the Aarhus Symposium Board of Directors since August 2016 and member of the board since 2015.

Jens Bjerg Sørensen

CEO, Schouw & Co.

 

Jens Bjerg Sørensen is the CEO of Schouw & Co. and the Chairman of the Board at BioMar Group A/S, Dovista A/S, Købmand Herman Sallings Fond, and Hydra-Grene A/S. In addition, Jens Bjerg is a member of the board at, among others, Dansk Supermarked A/S, Per Aarsleff A/S, Fibertex Personal Care A/S, GPV International, and Xergi A/S.

 

Jens Bjerg holds a HD in Marketing Management from Copenhagen Business School and has completed the Insead Executive Programme at INSEAD, France.

 

Jens Bjerg has been a member of the Aarhus Symposium Board of Directors since 2016.

Michael Svarer

Professor, Aarhus BSS

 

Michael Svarer is a Professor in Economics at the Department of Economics and Management at Aarhus BSS and is research fellow at IZA, Bonn. Michael holds a Ph.D. from the University of Aarhus in 2001.

 

Michael is currently member of the chairmanship of the Danish Economic Council and former member of the Labour Market Commission both appointed by the Danish Government.

 

Michael has been a member of the Aarhus Symposium Board of Directors since August 2016.

Peter Engberg Jensen

Professional Board Member

 

Peter Engberg Jensen is former CEO and Executive Board Member at Nykredit. He is currently

Associate Professor at Copenhagen Business School and Chairman of the Board at Finansiel

Stabilitet A/S and PFA Invest. In addition, Peter is a member of the board at, among others, Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker and Pension Danmark.

 

Peter holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Copenhagen in 1978.

 

Peter has been a member of the Aarhus Symposium Board of Directors since August 2016.

Kasper Vinther Olesen

Associate, Merrill Lynch International

 

Kasper Vinther Olesen is a Rates Strat at Merrill Lynch International in London and one of the co-founders of Aarhus Symposium. Kasper holds a M.Sc. in Quantitative Economics and a Ph.D. in Economics from Aarhus University. In addition, he has conducted studies at Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto), Oxford-MAN Institute of Quantitative Finance, and London School of Economics.

 

During his studies, Kasper was engaged in the student life at Aarhus University, where he co-founded the student organisations FACCA and Aarhus Symposium. In Aarhus Symposium, Kasper was a member of the Steering Committee in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and has been the Vice Chairman of the Aarhus Symposium Board of Directors since.

Jens Riis Andersen

Engagement Manager, McKinsey & Company

 

Jens Riis Andersen is a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company and one of the co-founders of Aarhus Symposium. Jens holds a Ph.D. in Economics as well as a Master’s Degree in Law from Aarhus University. In addition, he has conducted studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, HEC Paris, Harvard University, and ESADE.

 

During his studies, Jens was engaged in the student life at Aarhus University, where he co-founded the student organisations FACCA and Aarhus Symposium. In Aarhus Symposium, Jens was as a member of the Steering Committee in 2011 and 2012, and has been a board member since.
