We are currently looking for new organisers to take part in our Support Crew.

As part of the Support Crew, you will experience Aarhus Symposium from the inside during the most eventful and active months of the year. 09 Sep Jais Valeur – Speaker at Aarhus Symposium 2016

We are proud to announce Jais Valeur, CEO at Danish Crown, as a speaker at Aarhus Symposium 2016.

We are happy to announce Jyske Bank as a Premium Partner of Aarhus Symposium 2016.

22 Jun Theme Announcement

The theme of Aarhus Symposium Focus 2016 is “Demographic changes – How will we work, age, and live?”

Looking five years ahead, the generation entering the Danish labour force is smaller than the retiring generation. Already by 2017, Danish employment will be at its structural level creating problematic conditions for businesses. This may lead to the following questions: Which actions do business leaders need to take now to prepare for this shift in labour availability? How do legislators create the best conditions for future growth while addressing these demographic challenges?

On October 31, 2016, three experts will share their individual perspectives on how we will work, age, and live through an economic discussion. The speakers will be announced during this fall.

During the past four years, several experts participating in Battle of the Economists have shared their views on economic challenges faced in Denmark. In the years to come, Aarhus Symposium Focus will continue to zoom in on the national scope and provide participants with current and inspirational insights in relation to the overall theme of Aarhus Symposium.

15 Jun ‘Battle of the Economists’ changes name to ‘Aarhus Symposium Focus’

It is with great excitement we announce that Battle of the Economists from this day on will be named “AARHUS SYMPOSIUM FOCUS”.

Since 2012, Battle of the Economists has developed and grown even further than we had hoped for. Therefore, time has now come to redefine the scope of the concept by broadening the possibilities for the specific focus of the event. This makes it possible to choose the most interesting and relevant subject to discuss in relation to the overall theme of Aarhus Symposium each year.

06 Jun Jimmy Maymann – Speaker at Aarhus Symposium 2016

We are excited to announce Jimmy Maymann, President at AOL Content and Consumer Brands, as a speaker at Aarhus Symposium 2016 and as the third and final leader participating in Aarhus Symposium Challenge.

During Jimmy Maymann’s three years as CEO of The Huffington Post, the number of monthly users was quintupled. This was a result of his strategy for the company’s international expansion. In addition, Maymann has shown the ability to be at the cutting edge of digitalisation with projects such as GoViral and Neo Ideo. By foreseeing consumers’ desires, he has made a considerable impact on the digital development. Furthermore, he has advanced to become EVP of the global mass media corporation AOL.

At Aarhus Symposium 2016, Jimmy Maymann will share his view on how to identify and exploit new digital trends.

In September, Jimmy Maymann will put forward a challenge within the theme of “The Art of Power”. By taking up the challenge, students have the opportunity to qualify for an exclusive session with him in Leaders’ Forum.
