Last year, the global tech-company IBM launched the software platform Watson Internet of Things. The platform, among other things, allows companies to use data and cognitive computing to predict and create future trends among customers. Thus, with Watson Internet of Things, IBM is dramatically changing the way businesses operate. IBM estimates that by 2020 over 50 billion connected devices will be in use globally, resulting in a market opportunity for Internet of Things business at approximately 392 billion USD.
