As the Chief of Leadership Programmes at United Nations Global Compact, Ole Lund Hansen is at the forefront of promoting global corporate sustainability. During his six years at United Nations Global Compact he has helped create a network of particularly sustainability-focused leaders across nearly all industries and countries worldwide. Ole Lund Hansen believes that for real sustainable change to flourish globally, it must develop at the grass-roots level. Through his position at United Nations Global Compact, Lund Hansen aids companies in changing their perception of what responsible business is – also within a national context. Thus, his mission is to encourage corporate leaders to engage in local improvements on sustainability issues, ultimately aiming at making the world a better place for its citizens.
The United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative with nearly 10,000 corporate participants in more than 160 countries. It is a United Nations project that encourages businesses worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, based on ten principles regarding human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption.
