THE WAY WE WORK

With the theme "The Way We Work," Aarhus Symposium 2023 explored the nuances of day-to-day workplace operations. It facilitated a discussion of the critical nuances necessary to perform and succeed in the current business landscape, particularly in fostering diversity and inclusion.

A closer look at these nuances helps leaders understand the dynamics across the organisation. By unravelling the threads of the workplace fabric, participants at Aarhus Symposium 2023 gained valuable insights into how to nurture an inclusive workplace and begin growth in a new business landscape.

As the discussion unfolded, it became evident that mastering “How We Work” is a great advantage and has the opportunity to profoundly change organisational merit and advance in a forever global world.

Today's leaders understand that businesses can draw on a more excellent pool of knowledge by focusing on diversity. A diverse talent pool, in return, helps firms see new opportunities that embody the global world many firms operate within.

At the Aarhus Symposium 2023, the aim was to discuss the role of “How We Work” and how to achieve a thriving workforce that embodies growth and diversity.

AARHUS SYMPOSIUM FOCUS 2023

SHADES OF INNOVATION

At Aarhus Symposium Focus 2023, students discussed the theme of "Envisioning the New Era".

The inspiring discussion between today's students and participating leaders resulted in a motivating exchange that sought to envision a brighter future. Considering the growing voice for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, students and leaders were eager to share perspectives. Doing so successfully facilitated a discussion on one of the most talked-about topics of today's business landscape.

To conclude on our discussion, our Focus Partner, PwC, took the stage and, along the way, shared interesting pockets of knowledge related to the theme “Envisioning the New Era”. A comprehensive and diverse discussion about the theme emerged, confirming and challenging thoughts.

At the Aarhus Symposium, we ensure that we continuously improve, and we do so by challenging and questioning thoughts. In this way, we ensure that we develop towards a better future. Thanks to our partner, PwC, for leading and facilitating a fascinating discussion.

AARHUS SYMPOSIUM CHALLENGE 2023

THREE CRUCIAL CHALLENGES

Aarhus Symposium Challenge was the official starting line for students to join in on the discussion of the overall theme, “The Way We Work”, and secure a seat for Aarhus Symposium Friday 2023 and Aarhus Symposium Focus 2023. In addition to securing a seat, the twelve most inspiring essays were invited to participate in the Leader's forum, an elusive session with the speaker whose challenge the student addressed.

The students were asked to share their thoughts on one of three challenges. For each challenge, a speaker presented a topic concerning the overall theme.

The speakers participating in Aarhus Symposium 2023 were:

Mette Kaagard, CEO of Microsoft Denmark and Iceland, with the challenge: How do we ensure AI creates ethical and sustainable solutions for modern business?
Richard Moore, CEO and partner of Mercuri Urval, with the challenge: How can you develop the skills and mindset needed to become a successful leader of tomorrow?
Jacob Aarup-Andersen, CEO of Carlsberg Group, with the challenge: How do we balance productivity and well-being in the workplace?

AS LEADERS FORUM 2023

12 MOST INSPIRING ESSAYS

On the day of the Aarhus Symposium, the twelve students behind the most extraordinary and inspiring essays were invited to our Leaders' Forum. They had the unique chance to meet and engage in dialogue with one of the three speakers who participated in the Aarhus Symposium Challenge in an intimate one-hour session.

The author behind the winning essay of the Aarhus Symposium Award 2023 was Ida Marie Ringby Stampe, who addressed how the workplace can develop through a focus on supplying meaning for employees and how this renewed focus can inspire and commence more opportunities for companies to achieve a competitive edge.

One of the highlights of her essay was her argument on the correlation between perceived meaningfulness experienced by employees and company profitability.
